Hidden-gem Dives MIKOMOTO hammerhead Shark dives, we are started May to end of November top season. available booking before a season.
The southernmost point of the Izu peninsula is where Mikomoto is located. At Mikomoto, where the current is strong, you may participate in some true drift diving. hammerhead sharks belong to the many large creatures that can occasionally be spotted here. Every year, the hammerheads often show up in the during season. We extend our offer to any certifed divers with advanced experience.​

MIKOMOTO/SOUTH IZU
Mikomoto is located at the southernmost point of the Izu peninsula. You can do some real drift diving at Mikomoto, where there is a strong flowing current. A wide range of Various big things can be seen here, including occasionally sea turtles and hammerhead sharks. The hammerheads usually arrive around summer every year. As they roam around the island often appear in great numbers. If you are lucky, you can swim along with them.  We call this the "Hammer River".  ​Mikomoto is truly an exciting location but be aware that this dive tour isn't for beginner divers. You need to have a good level of experience. You need to have logged at least over 50 logged dives minimum and hold an Advanced Open Water Diver Certification level.​

Divers travel from all over the world to give it a try. Are you going to be able to see them?  Only those who have taken part can truly comprehend this thrilling and poignant diving. you'll enjoy an unparalleled diving experience. This is the ideal level if you're bored of diving spots around the world. it's a great way to put your skills, curiosity, and luck to the test.   
What kinds of underwater wildlife can you see on the Mikomoto south Izu?

South Izu is the best choice if you're looking for a dive spot that offers beautiful underwater scenery and wildlife, Izu offers a wide variety of fish to observe on the South Pacific coast. Tropical fish arrive on the warm Kuroshio Current. The hammerhead sharks that move around Mikomoto island. They can be observed in numerous schools, by individuals or in small groups. Depending on the season and tied, they can occur in different places. Kame rock, jabune, Point A, Kadone, and more are the many entry points. Additionally, there are other species of sharks, including angel shark and grey reef sharks, Hammer head sharks are more visible when there is a current, they will swim in your direction if you grasp onto a rock on the bottom and look up. You should also come across them looking for them on a mid-depth (around 15m) blue water dive.   
Who wants to take part in this certified dive?

People from all over the world want to participate in hammerhead shark diving at Mikomoto. They've all had amazing experiences, but they come for the even more exciting opportunity to see hammerhead sharks. to Mikomoto's rules, divers must have at least 50 dives, sufficient swimming skills, and good health.
Some of our participants, who are instructors and divemasters, have between 100 and 2,000 dives under their belts.

Diving operations from Shimoda Station to the South Izu go on daily.
Please use our website's booking form to submit your scheduling request. Later, we will respond with a confirmation of your reservation. Since the event is held every day, there is no schedule posted. Tell us about your ideal timetable, please.
Our dive staff determines the daily dive points based on the state of the ocean and the ability level of our guests.
Dive trip Schedules  
  • 08:00 am Meet at the Shimoda Station exit.
  • We recommend coming to the Shimoda area the day before. Introduce accommodation.
  • 08:30 am reach at the dive site. ​
  • 09:30 am First Dive (Boat Dive).
  • 11:30 am Lunch time.
  • 13:00 am Second Dive (Boat Dive).
  • 14:00 pm Gear's pack up. 
  • 15:00 pm Leave from Dive site​.
  • 15:30 pm Arrive at Shimoda station​​.​
  • *We will drop off at your hotel in the Shimoda area, 

The PADI instructor guide with you.
A PADI English-speaking instructor will go with you on your diving trip (all dive staff speak English, French, and Japanese). At least two people are needed for operations. Divers on their own should ask about the schedule.  To make a reservation, please fill out the form. Please get in touch with us, etc., before making a reservation if you have any questions about the program. 


If you are participating in big group, or dive shops tours, please contact us so that we can make special arrangements.

Please note and Necessary
  • ​Diver Certification bring it on the day any diving organization (SSI, BSAC, CMAS, NAUI) are also welcome.​​
  • Hidden-gem dives Minimum 2Divers​.
  • Your booking will be put on hold until two divers can be found if you are applying alone. 
  • If you book 2days or more, we can arrange dive sites in completely different locations each day. ​
  • Towel, Sandals, Swimwear, Inner Layers, 
  • Logbook (if you have one) ​
  • Rental equipment sizes are limited. If you are over 195 cm tall, heavier than 120 kilos or have feet larger than 30 cm, please contact us.​
  • Participants under the age of 18 need a signature of a parent or guardian.
  • Participants over the age of 45 need a medical document with doctor signature,  
    Participants over the age of 60 not available.
  • After confirming a reservation, kindly finish the payment within three days. The payment deadline is the day following the application date if the dive schedule is within a week. You can pay online with a credit card or by bank transfer.​ (Payments cannot be made on the day of the dive. ) if not received will be cancel Automatically,​

Take note

MIKOMOTO is a diving location that is open from May to the end of November.
 other two Hidden-gem locations all ways open, and A minimum of two participants are needed for each dive date.  Locations in Mikomoto (Hammer Head sharks diving), Kumomi(Cave), and Shoubusawa(Shipwreck) offer hidden gem dives. Although Mikomoto is the main location, if the strait is closed that day or the conditions are bad, we will move on to the other two dive sites Kumomi(Cave), or Shoubusawa(Shipwreck).  so, you can dive in the other two places. Mikomoto always comes first, but as mentioned before that, please be prepared for anything to change. If you only want to attend Mikomoto, do not apply. There are no guarantees for it is a natural ocean condition.

The cylinder tank used is a Air10-liter steel tank. (Not available Nitrox,)
Rental wetsuits are 5mm thick. Rental BCDs have weight pockets. Weight belts are also provided.
Weights are available in 1kg, 1.5kg, and 2kg sizes.
Please decide in advance how many kilograms you need and whether you need a belt. There will be no time to discuss this on the day, so please make your own decision.


Please only take part if you are able to adhere to the rules and regulations.

  • Participants need to have a good level of experience.  
  • Participants need to have logged at least over 50 logged dives, 
  • if your buddy will be dive master or instructor you can participants over 30 logged dives 
  • Participants need to have hold an Advanced Open Water Diver.​
  • Participants also need know how to use SMB (DSMB) and signal bell rent FREE! 
  • Dive time is 35 minutes each, including safety stops.
  • The tank is a 10L Steel Tank. And there is no Nitrox availavle.
  • Participants must be able to gear up by yourself without assistance.
  • Participants must be able to descend and ascend without assistance.
  • A dive computer is required.
  • Participants have not dived for more than a year, please do a check dive before other day.
  • This is basically a drift dive, so please refrain from doing it if you are not confident.​
  • Please refrain from participating if you have a medical history.
